Ellen DeGeneres is finishing her television talk show ‘The Ellen Show’ in 2022

Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk shows The Ellen Show will end in 2022 after its 19th season. The talk show host made an official declaration in a video presented on her YouTube channel Wednesday.
DeGeneres discussed hosting more than 3,000 shows and said, “Today, I’m announcing that next season, season 19, is going to be my last season.”
DeGeneres will obviously additionally talk about the move with daytime predecessor Oprah Winfrey on Thursday’s show.
“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged — and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” DeGeneres told The Hollywood Reporter.
Information on the show’s end comes after BuzzFeed announced the previous summer on charges of a toxic workplace environment, and after a drop of what The New York Times revealed was in excess of 1,000,000 watchers during the 2020-2021 TV season.
“Although all good things must come to an end, you still have hope that the truly great things never will,” Mike Darnell, president of Warner Bros. unscripted television division, said in a statement. “The show and Ellen brought comedy, joy, happiness, comfort (and dancing!) to countless millions every day for 18 years. It was and is an indelible piece of the television landscape, and it will be sorely missed.”
DeGeneres’ agent didn’t promptly react to a request for additional comment.
