In what should be Kanye West’s most Kanye moment since forever, he’s apparently filed legal documents to formally change his name.

The Love Lockdown rapper is said to be ditching his name for Ye, which is a considerably more limited version of his nickname Yeezy.

Kanye is accounted for to have filed legal documents in Los Angeles to roll out the improvements official.

As indicated by TMZ, in California, except if there’s proof a name change is intended to commit fraud or different shenanigans the judge will approve it, which means it’s pretty much a done deal.

The changes come in the midst of his divorce from his world star wife Kim Kardashian West, who filed for divorce from the rapper in February.

Yet, it’s not the first time the rapper and fashion designer has attempted to go by the nickname.

In September 2018, West composed on Twitter, “the being formally (sic) known as Kanye West. I am YE.”

He later proceeded to clarify the biblical context behind the name.

“I believe ‘ye’’is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible, it means ‘you’,” West told radio host Big Boy.

“So I’m you, I’m us, it’s us. It went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye, just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, everything. The album is more of a reflection of who we are.”

The name-change talks come only days in front of the rapper’s next listening party for his highly expected studio album Donda.

West will act in his hometown of Chicago on Friday before 38,000 fans — decreased down from 63,000 because of COVID limitations.

This is the third listening party for the album which will be held at Soldier Field. The venue doesn’t expect participants to be vaccinated or have negative COVID tests to join in.

The rapper named the album after his late mother who died in 2007 at 58 years old.
