Anju Grey last of five children always had the vision to make a difference in people lives for the better. He was born and raised on the island of Jamaica and grew up in a community called Portmore, where he lived with two sisters and two brothers. He learned what poverty is like at a very young age which fueled his motivation and hunger for success.
After migrating to the United States at the age of 12 to escape his poverty-driven community, Anju quickly adopted and started his business at the age of 17 selling digital subscriptions. He would later venture off into dropshipping where he found tremendous success. Anju later founded One Less Tear nonprofit organization where he would use his own money to feed the homeless every weekend. In his interview, he stated that he had a calling to help others, and felt after achieving a certain amount of success it was only right to give back. After feeding the homeless for four years another idea hit him, he said: “what if I could teach them how to make their own money”. Anju decided that he would give the homeless education, thinking with the right knowledge they can succeed. “Not everyone was receptive to the idea, and some were unmotivated. The one’s who were receptive showed tremendous growth”.
Over two years, Anju took in 12 homeless individuals under his wing for personal mentorship, Anju helped these individuals launch a successful business based on their ideas and helped them find their passion. “I would work with these individuals about twice a week, and all my free time went to into mentoring them”. Anju believes everyone deserves a fair shot at life, and others might need a bit more coaching. Anju spent most of his free time teaching them the basics of entrepreneurship, money management and even simple communication. “A lot of the homeless individuals don’t even have a basic high school education, so I have to teach them some basics skills on top of the business skills”. As Anju stated, when he first started, it was difficult at first, but it was his passion that made him continue, the good and the motivation he saw in those individuals. Anju Grey currently offers his courses and training materials on his website anjugrey.com for anyone who need help starting their own business.
