Getting an Amazon package delivered from the sky is nearer to becoming a reality.

The Federal Aviation Administration said Monday it had allowed Amazon approval to deliver packages by drones.

Amazon AMZN, +1.39% said that the approval is a “important step,” yet included that it is as yet testing and flying the drones. It didn’t state when it anticipated that automatons should make deliveries to customers.

The online shopping goliath has been dealing with drone delivery for years, however it has been eased back by regulatory obstacles. Back in December 2013, Amazon CEO and organizer Jeff Bezos said in a TV interview that drones would be traveling to client’s homes within five years.
