The mobility solutions company ACMobility has purchased Evro, an EV charging network created by Globe’s 917Ventures. To make EV charging easier for Filipino drivers, Evro provides a platform that is brand-neutral.
“We built Evro with the intention of simplifying Filipino EV owners’ charging journeys,” Vince Yamat, managing director of 917Ventures, said in a media release. “Entrusting Evro to ACMobility ensures it will continue to evolve and contribute to the advancement of sustainable transport.”
It is anticipated that ACMobility’s acquisition of Evro will improve services for EV customers, particularly for drivers traveling outside of cities.
“Evro is changing the game for electric vehicle adoption in the Philippines,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility. “It will address range anxiety concerns and empower EV owners to have full control of their charging experience.”
The only EV charging app approved by the Philippine Department of Energy is called Evro. It makes charging networks more accessible by combining them from several operators. Customers can use GCash or credit cards to make cashless payments, find nearby charging stations, and remotely monitor the charging process.
Evro now has 33 charging stations in strategic areas including Baguio Ayala Technohub, Ayala Center Cebu, and One Bonifacio High Street. Additionally, the app intends to integrate more Charge-Point Operators in order to grow its network.
As we work together to create a sustainable future for Filipino drivers, Zobel de Ayala noted, “The partnership with 917Ventures and the Globe Group has been invaluable.”
