An Interview with Omar Parker co-founder of Egerton Crescent productions

Omar Parker is the co-founder of Egerton Crescent productions, a film production company that has had short films at Berlin, Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca, and Tiff. He has also had features in select releases around the country and picked up by Amazon Prime such as The Burying Party (2018), Mrs. Claus (2018) and Luz (2019). Without a doubt he is one of the most successful producers of his age range. But what is Omar’s life like outside of producing? We caught up with him and found out.

Q: Omar, you’ve had incredible success for your age, do you ever feel overwhelmed? How do you process it?

A: To be honest I just take it one day at a time. I’ve made a lot of movies but truthfully I’m probably the most relaxed guy you know. I just happen to like to make movies.

Q: What is a day in the life of Omar like? What do you do in your free time?

A: Im super lazy. I don’t really do a ton of outdoor activities. If it isn’t eating out, watching TV, playing video games, or vibing I’m not interested.

Q: That’s actually super interesting. A pretty stark difference from what I’ve heard from a lot of entrepreneurs. Why is that?

A: Film is a different beast than most businesses. Different work requirements. I once had a friend that gave me some great advice. He told me he would rather work with a friend that he could teach the industry too, then a savvy industry worker he didn’t trust.

Q: That’s fascinating. What’s a fun fact our readers may not know about you?

A: Hmm. I am a huge super nerd. Like I have over two hundred hours in both Destiny and Battlefront 2 for example. Oh also I technically got an honorary rank of Count from the nation of Sealand.

Q: That’s incredible. Well we know you are a busy man so thank you for your time.

A: I’m really not. So there you have it. If you are looking to contact Omar you can find more info by reaching out to Egerton Crescent Productions, finding him on IMDb Pro, or emailing his YouTube channel Captain’s Log
