Apple is getting ready to improve and possibly broaden the range of external displays it offers for iPad and Mac users. The company is working on “multiple new external monitors” with Apple Silicon inside, including a new Pro Display XDR, according to a recent report.
Apple currently offers two external monitors for sale: the Pro Display XDR and the Studio Display. The first is available now and starts at $1,599, while the second is available now and starts at a staggering $4,999 (without a stand).
In the most recent release of his Power On pamphlet, Bloomberg’s Imprint Gurman reports that Apple has “numerous new outer screens being developed.” One of these is a brand-new incarnation of the Pro Display XDR, which would be utilized in conjunction with the forthcoming Apple Silicon-powered Mac Pro. However, Gurman suggests that the new Pro Display XDR may not be made available until after the new Mac Pro:
Additionally, Apple is developing a number of brand-new external monitors, one of which is an update to the Pro Display XDR, which debuted alongside the Intel Mac Pro in 2019. However, given that the computer is further along in its development than the monitor, it is possible that the company’s next high-end display will arrive after the Mac Pro.
Apple is working on a new external display with a resolution of 7K. A 32-inch 6K (6016 x 3384) panel with 218 pixels per inch is included in the current Pro Display XDR. Apple’s 7K external display could have a pixel density of 245 PPI on a 32-inch screen or the same as the Pro Display XDR’s 218 PPI on a 36-inch screen.
Additionally, according to Gurman, “the screens rely less on resources from the attached computer” because each of these new external displays will contain Apple Silicon chips. The Studio Display has an intriguing 64GB of storage and an A13 Bionic chip, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Bo Nix, Oregon’s quarterback, returns for the 2023 season
Oregon will continue the Bo Nix experience for one more season.
The senior quarterback announced in a video titled “Bo Is Back” that he will return to the Ducks for his final year of eligibility.
“There’s nothing like a Saturday in Autzen Stadium, in front of the best fans in college football,” Nix said. “There’s nothing like being an Oregon Duck. For 2023, I’m back.”
Last offseason, Nix made the move from Auburn to Eugene and had the best season of his college career under the direction of Kenny Dillingham, his former quarterbacks coach who is now the offensive coordinator.
Nix gained 3,893 total yards of offense in 12 games. While assisting No., he scored a total of 41 touchdowns (27 passing and 14 rushing). 15 Oregon to a season of 9-3.

The Ducks will be a contender to reach the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2014 and a favorite to win the Pac-12 with Nix in charge.

The Auburn transfer declared Sunday that he would be back briefly season with the Ducks. In his first season at Eugene, Nix was one of the best quarterbacks in college football.

In addition, he rushed for a career-high 504 yards and 14 touchdowns, putting Oregon briefly in the running for the national championship after the team lost to Georgia in the season opener. However, following Nix’s injury to his right leg in Oregon’s loss to Washington, the team lost two of its last three games. Nix appeared to be subpar in the final two games of the regular season.
As a result of Nix’s announcement, he will participate in the Holiday Bowl on December 28 against North Carolina. Drake Maye of UNC, who plays for the Tar Heels, is playing in that game, which is one of the best quarterback battles of the bowl season.
Nix began for three seasons at Reddish-brown yet moved after a physical issue in the tenth round of 2021 finished his season rashly. In his three seasons at Auburn, he never threw for more than 2,542 yards or completed more than 61% of his passes. In 2022, he completed more than 70% of his passes.
However, another new offensive coordinator will take over for the fifth-year quarterback in 2023. Arizona State’s head coach is Kenny Dillingham, the former Oregon offensive coordinator. Will Stein, the offensive coordinator at UTSA, was hired by Oregon to succeed him. In 2022, the Roadrunners scored an average of over 30 points per game.
The Pac-12 will have three of its best quarterbacks back in 2023 thanks to Nix’s return. Caleb Williams, who won the Heisman Trophy, is starting his third season at USC. Washington’s Michael Penix previously said that he would be returning after a great season in his first year with the Huskies.
