The band’s most recent single, “Take Two,” which was released on Friday to commemorate the septet’s tenth anniversary of their debut on Tuesday, debuted at the top of the global music charts.
“Take Two” was ranked No. 1 on global streaming service Spotify’s Daily Top Song Global chart on Saturday, with over 7.2 million streams within a single day.
The song likewise appeared on Japanese music chart Oricon’s Daily Digital Single Ranking with 21,792 downloads soon.
It sat on the No. 1 position in 92 regions on the iTunes Top Song chart as of Saturday morning.
“‘Take Two’ is a song dedicated to the fans, a song made for the band’s 10th anniversary of debut with all their gratitude toward fans,” BTS’s agency BigHit Music said in a press release.
HYBE will hold a series of events beginning Monday to praise the band’s fantastic year. Media artworks will be installed, eight locations around Seoul will be turned purple, the band’s official color.
After their smash hit “Dynamite” in 2020, BTS became the first male K-pop artist in history to have two No. 1 songs with “Take Two.” 1 songs. The main other male K-pop act to top the chart to date is BTS’s own Jimin, who impacted the world forever recently as the very first Korean soloist to come to No. 1 with “Like Crazy,” his solo debut single.
Also, “Take Two” debuted at No. 1 on Oricon’s daily digital singles chart in the wake of recording 21,792 downloads in Japan on its first day alone.
In contrast, “Take Two” previously topped the list. Within the first twenty hours of its release on June 9, it reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs charts in 92 nations around the world.
