In Google Docs, Google Workspace is introducing an AI picture generator driven by Gemini that enables you to quickly create graphics for your articles. This clip art maker is essentially a continuation of Microsoft’s AI-generated art tool found in their Office suite.
Paid Workspace accounts with the Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, or Google One AI Premium add-ons can use Google’s image creator in Docs.
Those who have the new feature can locate it by selecting Insert > Image > Help me build an image. This will bring up a sidebar labeled “Create an image,” where you can enter a description of what you want to produce. Additionally, it offers a drop-down menu with choices like “Photography” and “Sketch” for choosing an artistic style.
For the photos to best complement the design of your flyer, brochure, menu, or whatever else you’re creating, you can select square, horizontal, or vertical aspect ratios. Full-bleed cover images that fill a pageless document’s width can also be made.
Google’s most recent Imagen 3 generator, which promises “better detail, richer lighting, and fewer distracting artifacts” than its predecessors, is used in “Create an image.” A built-in presentation slide generator using Google’s Duet AI technologies, which resemble Clippy, was added to Google Slides last year.
The feature may take up to 15 days to emerge and will initially be rolled out to quick release schedule domains starting today. In the meantime, a phased deployment of domains scheduled for distribution will begin on December 16.
