Xbox Series X and Series S proprietors would now be able to experience Dark Souls 3 at 60 frames per second, because of an update that brings Microsoft’s FPS Boost feature to the game. Microsoft released the update on Wednesday for the backward-compatible version of Dark Souls 3.
Normally, Microsoft adds new FPS Boost-compatible games in batches, as it did with a raft of games from Electronic Arts, Bethesda Softworks, Ubisoft, and Lego earlier this year. Be that as it may, Dark Souls 3’s FPS Boost update “required a brand new technique, unique to Dark Souls 3, to enable 60 FPS on Xbox Series X|S,” said Jason Ronald, director of product management at Xbox, on Twitter.
“Huge thank you to our partners at FROM Software and Bandai Namco for their partnership and support,” Ronald added. (One can only hope that Sony Interactive Entertainment is additionally working intimately with FromSoftware to update its different games for PlayStation 5 too.)
Microsoft declared FPS Boost in February as a new feature for Xbox Series X backward similarity with select Xbox One games. The optional graphics setting can double or quadruple frame rates for games running on the new Xbox, however it requires Microsoft to “partner closely with developers to enhance” their games.
Dark Souls 3 was initially released in 2016 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
