This week is the planned release date for the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL, and know that at least some of you have already received shipping notifications. This is almost the big day for you and your Pixel 9.
Google has released the Android 14 factory image files for the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL (since Android 15 isn’t yet available) in order to ensure that this is a legitimate Pixel launch. They take this action to initiate the software trail and to supply the required files for individuals who may experiment with the gadget as soon as they receive it. Developers and anyone who are willing to tinker with files that most people shouldn’t can benefit from these files.
The Pixel 9 series will be able to access the subsequent Android 14 releases from Google at launch, all of which have the most recent security patches from August:
- Pixel: AD1A.240530.030; Pixel 9/9 Pro/9 Pro XL:
- Only for India, Pixel 9/9 Pro/9 Pro XL: AD1A.240530.030.A1.
- Google Pixel 9/9 Pro/9 Pro XL: VZW/US; AD1A.240530.030.A2,
- New carriers along with gStore
- XL, Pixel 9/9 Pro, and Pixel 9: AD1A.240530.047
The first list of builds is.030, as you can see, but there is a more recent one as well.047 build there as well, unaccompanied by any notes. It’s possible that you’ll receive an OTA update for that.047 build when your gadget gets here.
For those who are interested, they have also verified the codenames for each. Pixel 9 is “tokay,” Pixel 9 Pro XL is “komodo,” and Pixel 9 Pro is “caiman.” It’s always good to see those in official documents following months of rumors and leaks.
Naturally, the Pixel 9 Pro, which is slated for sale on September 4, isn’t quite ready for primetime just yet. On September 4, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also planned, but we don’t have any pictures of it yet.
