In order to make new and innovative music, a new approach to the creative process is indulged. In the case of Bronx artist, Fenzrir, his sonic innovation was birthed from the use of his appreciation for rock and metal music while creating hip-hop. Currently, at the front of the metal-rap and rock-rap subgenres, Fenzrir uses his feelings of rage and angst to create music that sounds brand new and one-of-a-kind.
“The hardest things for me to write about are generic things, such as using guns or money. I am too prideful to fall into that same and repetitive topic these hip-hop artists usually talk about.” Fenzrir shared this thought in response to challenges that he has faced as a songwriter and artist. Currently creating music that blends the genres of metal, rock, and hip-hop, Fenzrir is at the forefront of what might be a brand-new subgenre in rap, and he is well aware of his position.
The most real sense of inspiration for Fenzrir comes from the diverse base of fans he draws in with his music. “My greatest achievement as a musician is receiving countless messages from people who thank me for my music. It feels great to know that there are people who enjoy my style,” Fenzrir states. Yet again, looking to further the notion of what a genre can be, Fenzrir is hard at work on his next project, set to be released next year through Bentley Records.
