According to a survey from Canalys, Transsion expanded in the third quarter of 2023, although many North American consumers are still unaware of it. Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia have been the company’s primary markets. According to IDC, Transsion is outperforming Samsung in phone sales in certain markets, particularly in Africa. Although the Chinese phone manufacturer appears to be concentrating mostly on developing markets, there is a report that one of Transsion’s brands may soon introduce a gaming phone in the US.
According to Android Headlines, Infinix is preparing to launch the Infinix GT 20 Pro, a new mid-range phone focused on gaming, in the US next month. In April, the gadget is already scheduled to launch in China and India. It appears that the phone will soon be available on store shelves because it has been showing up in various certifications.
The alert people at MySmartPrice saw the GT 20 Pro showing up in listings on the FCC, Google Play Console, and NBTC databases a few days ago. Although Infinix hasn’t officially stated it yet, these listings and other leaks suggest that the company’s next gaming smartphone will be available more widely. It looks to be another fantastic, affordable handset.
A Cheap Gaming Smartphone May Be The Infinix GT 20 Pro
The Infinix GT 20 Pro appears to be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 chipset, based on the FCC listing, which is consistent with details from a listing on the Google Play Console. This new 4nm SoC is comparable to flagship CPUs from a few years ago, but it is a step below MediaTek’s top-tier chip. It may not be setting benchmark records anymore, but it still has plenty of power for daily use and gaming.
The new GT smartphone will allow 45W fast charging, according to the FCC listing. It also appears to have 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. A triple-rear camera arrangement on the back is depicted in the design schematics that were leaked through certification, perhaps copying the design of its predecessor.
On the other hand, a 1080 x 2436p display with a 480ppi pixel density is suggested by the Play Console listing. Additionally, information about the device’s 4,900mAh battery unit—which is likely to be advertised as a 5,000mAh battery—was revealed by a TUV certification listing.
Since entering the smartphone market ten years ago, Infinix has become well-known for its mid-range devices. The company is now venturing into gaming phones with the goal of reaching the major leagues. The GT 10 Pro, the company’s debut offering, was more of a budget-friendly gaming phone than a flagship.
Transsion’s expansion in the previous year appears to have resulted from its emphasis on developing countries, where demand stayed strong in contrast to established ones. If Transsion chooses to enter the US market, it will be interesting to see if company can keep up this speed.
