To improve the user experience, Google is implementing significant changes to Google Photos on a large scale.

According to some sources, this upgrade would replace the previous Library with a new “Collection” menu that may be accessed in a browser.

Similar adjustments were previously implemented by Google in the mobile apps.

All of the functions, including Favorites, Albums, Documents, Archive, and your Locked Folder, are still accessible despite a few additional tools in the Google Photos side panel being reorganized.

Even though it wasn’t a search tool, the Explore feature—which was symbolized by a perplexing magnifying glass icon—has been eliminated.

You no longer need to click Explore to access “People and pets,” “Places,” and “Documents” because they are now all located in distinct categories within the main Google Photos menu.

Like the feature in the mobile app, Google has introduced a new “Updates” section to the side menu. This section updates you on recent activity, such as likes and comments on your images, new members joining your album, or individuals sharing your album.

The former Sharing menu, which provided a similar function but with less detail, has been replaced with the new Updates section. All of your sharing activity is now centralized under the Updates area.
