By the end of 2024, the first phase of the Noida International Airport will be operational.
On November 24, Noida International Airport (NIA) and IndiGo signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) designating the domestic budget carrier as the airport’s launch or inaugural carrier.
As per this agreement, NIA and IndiGo will work together to enhance and expand air connectivity both inside and outside of Uttar Pradesh. According to the airline’s press release, the partnership intends to investigate fresh and creative concepts to improve operational effectiveness and customer experience.
It is anticipated that the partnership will give flyers access to a large route network and open up new business prospects in the area. The CEO of Noida International Airport, Christoph Schnellmann, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration and emphasized how it could improve air connectivity and guarantee a first-rate client experience.
The people of Uttar Pradesh will benefit from seamless connectivity across IndiGo’s extensive network, according to Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer of IndiGo. He also expressed excitement about the new airport’s 2024 opening and the continued partnership with NIA management to find creative ways to provide a convenient, hassle-free, and reasonably priced travel experience throughout the 6E network.
By the end of 2024, the first phase of Noida International Airport is expected to be operational. It will have one runway and one terminal, and it can accommodate 12 million passengers a year. After the fourth phase is finished, the airport will be able to handle 70 million passengers annually.
