Jared Clarke on the Role of Networking in Shaping the Energy Industry

Jared Clarke has established himself in the oil and gas industry as the founder and partner of Forza Resources, a company specializing in land management, GIS mapping, and database management services. His extensive knowledge and experience have enabled him to manage projects across multiple states, including Texas, Kansas, and Montana, helping oil and gas companies navigate the complexities of land and asset evaluation.

Jared’s career has focused on improving the energy industry and connecting future leaders. He studied Human Resources at Texas A&M University and took criminology and history courses at Sam Houston State University. What really sets him apart, though, is his passion for building networks and mentoring others.

In 2012, Jared Clarke joined the leadership team of Young Professionals in Energy (YPE), where he took on the role of Director for the Tyler chapter and later became the Social Chair for the Fort Worth chapter. His involvement with YPE allowed him to give back to the industry by creating opportunities for young professionals to build the networks and gain the guidance they need to succeed. He also played a significant role in founding YPE chapters in both Tyler and College Station, Texas, furthering his mission of supporting career growth for energy leaders.

According to Jared, networking is crucial in the oil and gas industry, especially for newcomers looking to build trust and credibility. “Starting in the industry wasn’t easy, especially when it came to earning clients’ trust,” Jared says. “In this field, reputation is everything, and clients want to work with someone they can rely on. As a newcomer, I had to prove that my company could consistently deliver reliable services.”

Jared’s early-stage challenges drove him to establish networking opportunities with others through YPE. He recognized that mentorship and relationships could make a difference, helping professionals avoid some of the same obstacles he encountered in his early years. His work with YPE continues to testify to his belief in the power of connections.

In addition to his involvement with YPE, Jared has served on the board of the Fort Worth ADAM (Acquisitions, Divestitures, and Mergers) group until 2023, demonstrating his dedication to the industry’s development and sustainability.

At Forza Resources, Jared works closely with his business partner and co-founder to provide various services to oil and gas companies, from surface and lease negotiations to regulatory consultations. Together, they oversee projects that span multiple counties in East and Central Texas and other regions. The company’s expertise in managing data and mapping has made it an invaluable resource for companies looking to maximize their assets and streamline operations.

Jared faced initial challenges in establishing a client base, but his hard work, clear goals, and focus on building connections have paid off. Now, Forza Resources is thriving, and Jared continues to support the importance of strong professional relationships for personal and industry success.

Jared Clarke is committed to helping the energy industry grow and mentoring young professionals. His hard work, leadership, and belief in the power of networking have shaped many careers and helped secure the industry’s future.
