Mercedes-Benz Korea facilitates the global expansion of startups

As part of its efforts to promote international growth prospects for creative businesses, Mercedes-Benz Korea said Thursday that it had invited nine promising Korean entrepreneurs to visit its headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, earlier this month.

The five-day event took place from November 11 to November 15 and was organized in partnership with the Korea University Research and Business Foundation, Sejong.

To learn about the cutting-edge technologies of the manufacturer, the chosen companies visited Mercedes-Benz’s Sindelfingen facility and the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Additionally, they explored potential future collaborations with Mercedes-Benz executives by presenting and discussing their proof-of-concept demos.

In all, nine startups—POEN, WiPowerOne, InnotionTech, Korea Simulator, Scalar Data, TMEV Net, Faraday, Awesomenics, and Perseus—from the domains of software-defined cars, hardware components, and electric vehicle batteries and charging took part in the program in Germany.

As a part of its 100-day accelerator program, WiPowerOne participated in this year’s Startup Autobahn Korea.

Startup Autobahn Korea has helped 63 Korean entrepreneurs since its founding in 2022 by offering worldwide networking opportunities and mentorship to assist businesses looking to go abroad.

“We are excited to be able to offer insights throughout the networking and PoC opportunities to more promising startups that can help them expand globally,” said Mathias Vaitl, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea.

“We hope this visit to Germany will inspire more Korean startups to create their own success stories as they expand into global markets.”
