Mercedes-Benz’s mobile app is now available on the Apple Watch

In order to allow owners to engage with their cars from their wrists without reaching for their smartphones, Mercedes-Benz said today that it is bringing popular features from its mobile app to the Apple Watch. The business joins an increasing number of automakers, such as Ford, Volvo, and Honda, that are implementing watchOS capabilities.

The Mercedes-Benz mobile app must be loaded on the iPhone that the wearable is connected to in order to use the new app, which is now accessible through the Apple Watch App Store, on Apple Watches running watchOS 9 or later.

Owners of Mercedes-Benzes may use the watch app to track the vehicle’s expected range, charge or fuel levels, remotely lock and unlock it, make sure the windows are closed, and find it while parked, complete with pedestrian-friendly navigation directions that will take them directly to the vehicle. Users will be shown a virtual compass that will guide them to the position of the vehicle in places where mapping is not available.

Like the smartphone app, the Apple Watch software is limited to Mercedes-Benz cars from 2019 and beyond, and the capabilities it offers will rely on the “vehicle’s model and equipment.”
