In terms of consumer goods, Microsoft has consistently been lagging behind Google. In contrast to its commercial software expertise, Microsoft’s consumer market service is seriously inadequate. Microsoft’s Bing search engine still lags well behind Google in terms of market share.
But according to Mustafa Suleyman, Microsoft AI’s recently hired CEO, the corporation is poised to make significant strides in its consumer products segment through the application of AI. To help with this endeavor, the US-based software corporation has brought on “an entire army” of creative directors, including comedians, psychologists, and writers.
Suleyman says that in order to set Microsoft’s AI assistant Copilot apart from the competition, these creative directors have refined its tone and aesthetic.
Let’s examine each of the recently introduced features
Voice of the Copilot
There will now be four additional voice options available in Copilot. Additionally, Voice will assist customers in coming up with ideas while they’re on the go. If you’re angry, you can even vent or ask it questions; Copilot will pay attention and react appropriately.
Copilot will eventually get to know you better and be able to respond more appropriately based on your preferences.
Think Deeper
Copilot’s Think Deeper function has enabled it to respond to complicated queries. Although it takes its time to respond to difficult questions, it provides thorough and sequential answers. It is intended to provide solutions for both simple and complicated issues. When weighing the advantages and disadvantages of complicated options, it is very helpful.
The Think Deeper feature is still being refined and will continue to develop over time. Copilot Pro users can purchase the current version for $20 per month.
Vision of the Copilot
As long as you grant it the necessary rights, Copilot Vision is made to see what you see. It can provide support without interfering with your workflow and comprehend both text and images that are displayed on a webpage. Copilot Vision, for example, may assist you in finding furniture, selecting colors, and even suggesting arrangements for your recently purchased furnishings if you are decorating a home.
None of the stuff that Copilot Vision interacts with will be saved or used for training. Microsoft claims that the data will be fully erased as soon as your session ends.
Copilot Daily
You will receive a daily summary of key information, such as the news and weather, thanks to this function. You will receive the information you want each morning in an easy-to-understand format.
Copilot Daily can also be configured to communicate more crucial information, such as reminders and future chores.
Copilot Discover
Are you unsure about what to do, where to go, or what to eat? In besides offering conversation starters, Copilot Discover also offers a helpful overview of its functionalities. As Copilot gains more knowledge about you from the data you supply through other Microsoft programs and applications, the recommendations will improve.
When will these features be accessible?
Users can already access Copilot Voice in a few areas of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. English is the only language used at the moment. Copilot Daily, however, is accessible in the United States and the United Kingdom. Microsoft also intends to bring this feature to additional areas.
India has not yet received an announcement on the release date.
Final Words
Microsoft is placing a significant wager in the customer service industry with these enhancements to its AI helper. It is obvious that the goal is to make Copilot seem like a more natural partner for daily chores.
Even while Google still controls the majority of the industry, Microsoft’s emphasis on fusing art and technology could have a significant impact. It’s unclear how successful it will be!
