Openai launched new equipment for developers on Tuesday, which will help them to manufacture advanced AI agents, using some application programming interfaces (API) amidst growing competition from Chinese AI startups.
AI agents are designed to execute the functions of the complex real world independently without direct human intervention, while the API is a wire of the code that enables standardized communication, data exchange and functionality between software components.
The new tool, called The Response API, is available for all developers without any additional cost. It replaces Openai’s assistant API, which is to be phased by the second half of 2026.
The development comes on heels of the release of the latest AI model by Chinese startups that claim to be better or better than the leading model of the industry in the United States.
Chinese startup Monica has attracted attention in the last few days after launching her autonomous AI agent Manus, Dipsek has been given Silicon Valley officials and the U.S. The tech company was praised by the engineers.
Monica, who says that its Manus AI performed better with Openi’s Dipperch agent, said on Tuesday that he was partnership with the team behind the Cuven AI model of Alibaba.
