The first tranche of a seed investment round has been completed by the Italian firm Quindi, which has raised €525k to develop its AI Production Copilot.
Open Venture, an industrial innovation-focused venture capital company inside the Open Advisory and ELIS Group ecosystem, spearheaded the investment. Considi S.p.A., an industrial operations consulting firm, also participated in the round. With this investment, Quindi will be able to grow its workforce, start its global expansion, and further develop its AI-powered Production Copilot.
The strategic importance of the cooperation with Open Venture was emphasized by Quindi’s CEO and co-founder, Fabio Oscari: “The partnership between Quindi and Open Venture came about spontaneously, starting with an industrial acquaintance that produced a mutual and natural rapprochement.” Three essential qualities Quindi looks for in a partner are knowledge, communication, and vision. The pros at Open Venture showed off their skills right away, and the goal of every discussion was to add value. Above all, Open Venture shares our vision and goal of using technology to give manufacturing enterprises strength and agility while never forgetting that people and the environment are just as important as economic performance.
AI, mechatronics, and production systems are among the areas of expertise brought to the firm by its founding team, which includes CEO Fabio Oscari, CTO Simone Minto, COO Luca Barbazza, and Head of Growth Alberto Frison.
With its Production Copilot, a cutting-edge AI system that combines data from machines, orders, and employees to optimize production flows, Quindi, which was founded in 2022, aims to revolutionize smart manufacturing. The platform allows businesses to handle production problems, such equipment anomalies or employee absenteeism, by utilizing real-time data and proprietary algorithms. Production managers can reschedule procedures to reduce waste and interruptions, while operators receive customized instructions to address problems.
This strategy, which combines operational effectiveness with a human-centric and sustainable focus, is in line with Industry 5.0 concepts.
Bianchi Bicycles and EPTA Group are among the manufacturers who have already used Quindi’s technology. The company will be able to extend its operations, improve its data integration skills, and improve its AI algorithms thanks to the funding from Open Venture. Additionally, by 2025, Quindi plans to enter the US and European markets, and the funding will help with marketing initiatives. By then, the business hopes to have doubled its workforce, bringing together experts in operations, AI, and manufacturing.
“Innovation is part of Considi’s DNA, and Quindi is tangible proof of this,” emphasises Gianni Dal Pozzo, founder and CEO of Considi S.p.A. “Our partnership has proven its success on the market: we draw on our respective competences to enable the transition of manufacturing companies towards Industry 5.0, putting people at the heart of industrial processes and technology at their service. The entry of Open Venture in the capital of Quindi represents a further step in the joint path to become the reference point in Made in Italy technology consulting, supporting Italian companies to seize the opportunities offered by digital technologies.”
“Optimizing processes by rethinking instructions based on accurate and organized data enables companies to reduce waste,” said Virginia Filippi, president of Open Venture, who is represented on Quindi’s board and expressed trust in the startup’s purpose and impact. Being a partner of Quindi in this way enables us to make a significant contribution, emphasizing individuals and organizations while also saving energy, which benefits the environment.
By 2025, Quindi intends to close a second investment round to strengthen its position in digital transformation and smart manufacturing.
