Pro-Am 2019, Fortnite: Airwaks and RL Grime win Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am

Karim “Airwaks” Benghalia and American maker RL Grime have won Fortnite’s second Pro-Am tournament during day two of the Fortnite Summer Block Party, procuring $1 million for their charity of decision.

The Pro-Am tournament returned for the second year in a row, including 50 of Fortnite’s most popular personalities as they collaborated with a celebrity duo to acquire cash for their favorite charities. Among the greatest names playing in the tournament included Brandon Urie of Panic! At the Disco, Xavier Woods, and Dillon Francis.

Format

Over the course of four duo matches, groups fought it out to procure focuses by racking up eliminations and arriving in the best 15 of each match. Toward the finish of each round, focuses were granted dependent on the accompanying situations: awarded based on the following placements:

First place: 10 points

Second to fifth spot: Seven points

6th to tenth spot: Five points

eleventh to fifteenth spot: Three points

Results

The tournament commenced with game one, in which Airwaks and his big name accomplice RL Grime managed to take down Turner “Tfue” Tenney and NBA player Josh Hart to secure the first match.

Game two came down to a final showdown between Aydan Conrad and Team Envy’s BuckeFPS. Aydan figured out how to take out Bucke’s shield, constraining his rival outside of the ring where he passed on to the tempest. With their win, Aydan and his couple accomplice Robert Abisi of Lost Kings moved up to first on the leaderboard.

Round three finished in a standoff between FaZe’s Jarvis Kaye, Airwaks, and Andre “Average Gamer” Rebelo. Airwaks was the first to drop, trailed by Jarvis after Typical Gamer bounced out of the player-wide circle and handled a round-winning shot on his opponent, knocking his team up to seventh place in the overall standings.

The final round of the tournament came down to the wire with a one-vs-one between Aydan and NRG Esports’ Mason “Symfuhny” Lanier. Aydan took the high ground, but Symfuhny destroyed the structure, causing his opponent to fall to his death.
