Honor’s sleek foldable phone, which made its debut in its native China, will soon be made available abroad, providing the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 with new competition. The announcement was made on Friday at the IFA exhibition in Berlin, which also saw the debut of the Honour V Purse, a chic concept phone.
Before the first quarter of 2019, the Magic V2 will go on sale in many regions of Europe and the UK, among other nations. According to Honour, there aren’t any present plans for a US release. The V2 starts at 8,999 yuan in its native China, though the corporation withheld price information. This is roughly equivalent to $1,250, £970, or AU$1,850.
Before the end of the month, the Magic V2 is anticipated to ship.
The Magic V2, a foldable phone in the shape of a book that was first exhibited in the beginning of the year, has upped the bar for its sector. The V2 is the slimmest foldable phone in the world when folded, measuring just 9.9mm thick. It is only 1.3mm thicker than an iPhone 14 normal.
Honour was able to cram the V2 with premium features including Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a triple-camera module with a telephoto camera, and a sizable battery that enables 66-watt fast charging despite the phone’s small size. It also supports styluses. But unlike its immediate rival, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, it doesn’t have a formal IP classification for water and dust resistance.
The Magic V2 is Honor’s follow-up to the Magic VS, the company’s first-ever foldable phone, which was unveiled earlier this year.
