A modified version of the Mate X3 from the previous year, Huawei has unveiled the Mate X5 in China. The Mate X5 has the same battery, cameras, and screens as its predecessor, in addition to sporting Huawei’s Kirin 9000S CPU.

Huawei stealthily unveiled the Mate X5, a new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 rival, in China. In summary, Huawei only recently released the Mate 60 and Mate 60 Pro in its native market. Contrary to Huawei’s most recent foldable, the Mate 60 series features numerous improvements over Mate 50 models. According to Huawei’s website, the Mate X5 and Mate X3 share the same features:

2,224 × 2,496 pixels on a 7.85-inch foldable OLED panel with a 120 Hz rate.

2,504 × 1,080 pixels on a 6.4-inch OLED cover display with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

50 megapixel, f/1.8, 23 mm, OIS primary camera.

12 MP, f/3.4, 125 mm, OIS, 5x optical zoom telephoto camera.

Camera with an ultra-wide angle: 13 MP, f/2.2, 13 mm.

cameras up front: two 8 MP f/2.4 cameras.

Type-C USB 3.1 port.

Battery size: 5,060 mAh silicon carbon (in Chinese, Mate X3).

The Mate X5 keeps the same dimensions as its predecessor while weighing between 243 g or 245 g, depending on the model, an additional 4 g. But Huawei has replaced the Mate X3’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor with a Kirin 9000S, the same chipset that powers the Mate 60 series. Regarding the Kirin 9000S, Huawei has not yet provided complete details, although it is said to use 7 nm nodes with Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A510 CPU cores as well as a Maleoon 910 GPU.

Additionally, Huawei offers the Mate X5 with an additional 4 GB of RAM over the Mate X3: 16 GB of RAM. Furthermore, Huawei only provides 512 GB and 1 TB options for the Mate X5, whereas the Mate X3 has 256 GB of storage by default. Huawei has begun pre-orders for the Mate X5 in China, but for some reason has not yet disclosed the price. Additionally, the business has not yet provided any global availability comments.
