Initiatives such as tax incentives, free zones, 100 percent foreign ownership, and golden visa have helped promote a dynamic business environment, providing a strong base for both local and international entrepreneurs.

“UAE’s infrastructure, advanced technology and efficient logistics network create an ideal environment for startups,” said Mariam Hasani, acting head of trends and innovation at Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA). He emphasized that these efforts not only facilitate the startup process, but also make important foreign investment.

A major initiative is driving entrepreneurship, ECA’s focus on Early Childhood Development (ECD) Startups. Working closely with government agencies, the authority helps startups tailoring their solutions to fit the UAE market.

Its major programs have Anjal Z program, launched in 2020 and is supported by Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO). This initiative attracts global ECD startups, which helps them integrate their solutions within Abu Dhabi.

“Anjal Z program is designed to bridge the significant gaps in childhood development, while Abu Dhabi also contributes to the economic diversification,” Hasani said. “The program has supported more than 45 beginners and growth-off startups, helping them establish the appearance in the UAE.”

Another notable effort is Abu Dhabi Youth Challenge (ADYC), a 54-hour boot camp aspiring for entrepreneurs between 18 and 26 years of age. It provides mentorship, networking opportunities and experience on the young innovations.

Under the World Early Childhood Development (WED) movement in 2024, the extended Adyc+ initiative now welcomes professionals, academics and researchers. “Related Adyc+ attracted 270 applicants, from which 150 were selected,” Hasani said. “By the end of the first day, 58 innovative ideas were picked, for the formation of 18 promising teams.”

With the government -backed funds, strategic cooperation, and sewn support, the UAE continues itself as a global center for startups. “By supporting global startups from funding to localization, the government enables knowledge transfer, employment generation and increased competition,” Hasani said.

Through such an initiative, the UAE indicates how an entrepreneurial ecosystem can change the ecosystem when running innovation in major areas such as early childhood development.
