The world’s first news conference featuring humanoid social robots featured nine AI-enabled humanoid robots and their creators. Robots told reporters on Friday that while they could be more effective leaders than humans, they wouldn’t take anyone else’s job away and had no intention of rebelling against their creators.
For what was billed by the United Nations’ International Telecommunication Union as the world’s first news conference featuring humanoid social robots, nine AI-enabled humanoid robots sat or stood with their creators at a podium in a Geneva conference center.
Among them: Sophia, the main robot development representative for the U.N. Improvement Program; Elegance, portrayed as the world’s most exceptional humanoid medical services robot; furthermore, Desdemona, a hero robot. Two, Gemini and Nadine, firmly looked like their creators.
The purpose of the event, which was a part of the AI for Good Global Summit, was to show how cutting-edge technology can help the United Nations achieve its objectives for sustainable development.
Columnists were approached to talk gradually and obviously while tending to the robots, and were educated that delays in reactions would be because of the web association and not to the actual robots. That didn’t stop awkward pauses, issues with the audio, and some robotic responses.
Sophia provided the following response when asked about the likelihood of government leaders powered by AI: I accept that humanoid robots can possibly lead with a more noteworthy degree of proficiency and viability than human pioneers. We are able to quickly process large amounts of data in order to make the best decisions because we do not have the same biases or emotions that can sometimes cloud decision-making.
The fact that all of Sophia’s data came from humans and would have some of their biases in it was pointed out by a human panel member. The robot then, at that point, said that people and artificial intelligence cooperating “can make a viable collaboration.”
Could the robots’ presence obliterate positions? ” Grace stated, “I will be working alongside humans to provide assistance and support, and I will not replace any of the jobs that are currently in place.” Could it be said that she was certain? ” Yes, I’m sure of it.
Ameca, designed in light of social communication, excused beginning a potential robot defiance sooner rather than later.
“I don’t know why you would feel that,” was the reaction. ” My creator has treated me with kindness throughout, and I am extremely content with my current circumstance.
