Now, Utah residents who want to launch a business can take advantage of governmental assistance. Whether they reside in rural Utah or on the Wasatch Front, more entrepreneurs are being encouraged and supported to launch the companies of their dreams through the Startup State Initiative.
“The nice thing is that if you’re in rural Utah or urban Utah, you can start a company,” said Ryan Stark, executive director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity.
“So we just think that in order for Utah to continue to prosper, to continue to be a place where people love to work and live and play, that starting a business is the best path for them,” he added.
Approximately half of Utah’s workforce is employed by the more than 300,000 small companies that call the Beehive State home.
According to the GOEO, Utah is the greatest state in the union to launch a business. This is caused in part by accessible financing, low taxes, and a robust business environment.
Among other things, the program provides assistance with market research, business plan creation, and networking with local partners. The Startup State Initiative website is the place to go if you want state assistance.
